BW Drum Shop started in Northampton as a specialist Drum Kit Retailer and stocks a mix of new and used drum kits, percussion, cymbals, and all drum set accessories.
Russ, Mitch and Ricardo have worked together in the industry for over twenty years. With Ricardo now opening their new drum shop in Porto BW hopes this will be and exciting time, welcoming Drummers and Percussionists to join our amazing family.
Customers are provided with expert advice and in-store tuition in a friendly, family atmosphere where all levels of musicians are welcome.
The shop has a rich heritage in percussion retail, with BW Store Teacher Russ having been in the percussion industry since 1995 at just 15 years old. Then in 2000 opened Drum Stores in the UK with late Father Brent, Grandfather Rex Webb, and Cousin Mitch. All of them have been involved in Drum manufacturing and wholesale since the 1950s with Rex being Sales Director at Premier Percussion. The following 15 years lead to the team being recognized in the Drum and Percussion field for their passion and love of the industry receiving accolades and awards from leading brands such Sabian, Remo, Vic Firth, and Mapex.
After years in music retail, Russ went on to open the areas number 1 drum tuition facility BW Drum School enabling him to deliver a high level of Drum Kit coaching to musicians of all ages and abilities.
June 2016 saw the BW Drum Shop open ( named in memory of Brent ) alongside an existing Drum School with the aim of creating a new Drumming Community within the UK.
While gigging, Mitch felt it was the right time to step back into the team becoming a teacher at the BW school and creating a unique retail experience with Russ in the drum shop that supplies honest advice and service to all drummers and percussionists across the UK. Soon after local pro drummer, educator, and friend of 15 years Ricardo Bonito joined the BW Family.
Ricardo a native of Portugal, sought to offer Drummers of Porto and beyond the same fantastic shopping experience that had been developed at BW in the UK with “all drummers having the opportunity to join the BW drumming community and family".
2022 saw the second BW branch open in Porto opening the BW facility to the Drummers of Europe with open arms. The aim of BW is to offer drummers in the UK and Europe the ultimate family retail experience both in-store and online, truly a Drum Store " run by drummers for drummers".
